Bemused and Beguiled

I wasn’t looking for anything
I was just biding my time
But she couldn’t look at me anyway
It was just one of those things

I don’t remember the feeling I felt
But it sure felt like hell for a while
Now that I’m older I play what I’m dealt
And I’m not bemused or beguiled

I tried to take it with a grain a salt
Before she left me for good
She tried to convince me it was all my fault
She never could stand to lose

Then another day walks into to view
And another girl steps in her shoes
Wearing the same name
With a charming debut
And turning brown eyes into blue

I hope I remember the feelings I feel
Cause I haven’t felt well for a while
Now that I’m older and I get to deal
But I’m still bemused and beguiled
