by Griff and the Grifftones from the album: Confessions of my Former Madness

Track 2 from Confessions of My Former Madness.

Note: For those that don’t know, Confessions was an album, shittily recorded, that I did a few years ago. It’s a concept album, or at least that was the original intention, that covered two CDs. I’ve decided to rearrange the songs a bit and condense it down to one disc, which is what I’m currently posting now. I’m sure eventually I’ll put all the songs I recorded for the album up here, including an EP called More Madness that contained about seven songs of stuff I didn’t want to put on the two disc version. Once all these songs are posted on tumblr, I’ll arrange everything in the correct order and put a link at the top of the page like I’ve done with some other albums of mine. All right, enough of this, here’s the lyrics to today’s song.

ME AND GEORGE

When I was a little boy I had a friend
I named him George and he was such an evil man
He liked setting fires in the parking lots
Of every Wal-Mart/Starbucks in our little town

One day he killed a man as we hitchhiked down the road
We stole the truck and drove it off the county bridge
We wrote our names on the walls of the overpass
Then went home laughing like a hippie smoking grass

A few years later, George got cancer in his balls
He tried to tie them off with a pair of panty hose
And as he laid there dying in my tiny arms
He said, “I never liked you. Now I’m goin’ home”
